How does the Online Home Energy Assessment calculate my results?
The Home Energy Assessment uses a physics-based home energy simulation model that accounts for home construction materials, the number and types of home equipment and appliances, the household’s unique energy use patterns and also prevailing weather conditions in your area. This model uses continually updated data to validate how each home uses energy and how energy usage and costs will change when different savings actions are taken.
Why do the Home Energy Assessment results seem to differ from my bills?
Even with a fairly in-depth survey like the Online Home Energy Assessment, it’s not always possible to account for all of the energy habits in a particular household; like how often things are turned on and off, or for electronics not captured in the survey.
